Douglas Alexander MP has joined Martin Whitfield MSP on a visit to a local farm to meet with NFU Scotland representatives.
The politicians were given a brief tour of the farm near Gifford before spending more than two hours discussing a range of local and national farming issues with the NFU reps, who included NFU Scotland Chairman Martin Kennedy.
Speaking after the visit, Douglas Alexander MP said:
“I was pleased to join Martin for what was a really useful meeting with representatives of NFU Scotland today at a local farm. We had a constructive and detailed discussion about a range of issues affecting East Lothian farmers and I look forward to continuing this positive dialogue.”
