Commenting on Storm Eowyn’s impact on East Lothian, Douglas Alexander MP said:
“Storms as extreme as Eowyn are exceptional, and I’m pleased that the advanced warning of its arrival meant local people, businesses and authorities had time to prepare and follow the relevant guidance and advice.
“While the storm clearly still caused widespread damage and disruption, I’m thankful that there appears to have been minimal serious harm to the public.
“I’m also grateful to the emergency and other workers who have been involved in responding to the storm’s impact over the last few days.”
