Douglas Alexander MP has welcomed the announcement that several groups in the Lothian East constituency have collectively been awarded nearly half a million pounds from the National Lottery Community Fund.

The groups that have been successful in securing awards from the latest round of lottery funding include East Lothian Play Association, North Berwick Beach Wheelchairs, Radio Saltire and Pennypit Special Needs Youth Club.

Commenting on the funding, Douglas Alexander MP said:

“I’m delighted to see so many important community groups benefiting from this latest round of National Lottery Community Fund grants.

“It is a substantial investment in our local third sector infrastructure, boosting vital services and support for some of the county’s most vulnerable groups and individuals.”

The full details of the funding awards are:

Edinburgh and Lothian Out of School Care Network – £19,011 grant.

Beach Wheelchairs – £20,000 grant.

East Lothian Play Association, SCIO – £10,000 grant.

Pennypit Special Needs Youth Club – £20,000 grant.

Radio Saltire SCIO – £10,000 grant.

Stroke Association – £149,875 grant.

North Berwick Coastal Community Connections – £110,031 grant.

Haddington Citizens Advice Bureau – £130,000 grant.

East Lothian Indoor Bowling Club – £5,184 grant.

Stronger Together for Autism and Neurodivergence – £8,000 grant.

THESPACESCOTLAND CIC – £16,396 grant.
