Douglas Alexander MP has visited East Lothian Foodbank to meet Manager Elaine Morrison and receive an update on the charity’s latest work.
Ms Morrison and members of her team told Douglas on some of its recent developments and the ongoing demand the service faces.
Speaking after his visit, Douglas Alexander MP said:
“It was good to catch up with Elaine and other representatives of East Lothian Foodbank today to listen and to learn from their day-to-day experiences.
“While the ultimate aim of everyone involved is to bring about an end to the need for foodbanks, as long as the demand exists they will continue to provide their lifeline service.
“They are always looking for food and financial donations, as well as new volunteers to assist with delivering their service to the local community.”
