Douglas Alexander MP is calling on constituents living with arthritis to seek support from Arthritis UK.

Roughly one-in-six people across the UK suffer from arthritis, and Arthritis UK, a leading charity, is rebranding from Versus Arthritis to better support people living with the condition.

They will continue to provide free helpline and support services, to train healthcare professionals throughout the NHS, and will remain the largest dedicated funder of arthritis research, having invested more than £367 million over the last two decades.

Douglas Alexander MP said:

“I am delighted to hear that Arthritis UK is continuing their work to support the ten million people living with arthritis across the UK, and would encourage anyone in East Lothian in need of support to contact them. I’m proud to support their work towards a future free from arthritis.”

Deborah Alsina MBE, Chief Executive of Arthritis UK, said:

Our name may have changed, but our vision and mission remain the same. We won’t rest until everyone with arthritis has access to the treatments and support they need to live the life they choose, with real hope of a cure in the future.”

To seek support, visit www.arthritis-uk.org or call their helpline 0800 5200 520.
